The federal government has released new dietary guidelines, introducing an emphasis on consuming meat and dairy and avoiding highly processed foods.
The guidelines also advise that Americans prioritize more protein intake, avoid highly processed foods, avoid added sugars, include healthy fats in meals, have diets lower in carbohydrates, consume more whole grains and avoid refined carbohydrates.
