Former Rep. Colin Allred is ending his U.S. Senate campaign in Texas and instead will attempt a House comeback bid, potentially paving the way for Rep. Jasmine Crockett to become the early favorite for Democrats' nomination in a state they have long hoped to make more competitive.
Former Texas Democratic Rep. Colin Allred announced Monday that he was ending his Senate campaign and would instead run to once again represent the Lone Star State in Congress.

Crockett, a second-term congresswoman, has skyrocketed to fame through viral spats with Republicans, becoming one of her party’s most prolific fundraisers.
Having passed the Indiana House last week, the redistricting bill President Donald Trump requested now begins its uncertain journey through the Senate.
In his first year in the U.S. Senate, Adam Schiff challenged President Trump while pressing the issue of affordability. He also tried to pass legislation, without much luck.

Democrat Colin Allred drops out of Senate race, announces run for 33rd Congressional District
The former Dallas congressman said he wanted to help his party avoid a runoff. In his campaign to return to the House, he will face U.S. Rep. Julie Johnson, his successor in Congress.
But the idea of redrawing a congressional map last approved in 2021 has made many Republicans in Indiana uneasy, particularly in the Senate. The leader of the state Senate previously said there were not enough votes in support of redistricting. But where the vote count stands going into Monday is unknown.
Republicans also expect a hotly contested primary among the incumbent Sen. John Cornyn, state Atty. Gen. Ken Paxton and U.S. Rep. Wesley Hunt.
